Our Horses

The horses used to minister to at-risk youth in the equine assisted therapy program at the Mustard Seed Society come in every shape, size, and color.

Koda

This Kentucky Mountain horse is Koda. he stands about 15-3 and is 8 years old. He is quite the gentleman, and everyone who sees him falls in love.

 

 

 

BJ

This goofy little 8 year old is BJ. He is a Paso Fino and stands 12’2. He’s always in your business and loves to goof off and have fun.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Willow

Willow is a flea-bit gray quarter horse. Her name is not as sweet as she is! She is picky about who she chooses as a friend but she is very dependable in her job here.
 

 
 

 

Festus

Festus is our mule and he is just plain fun to have around.  If you scratch his ears he will follow you anywhere!

 

 

 

Rosie

Rosie is like an old maid!  She’s a bit prim and proper but relates well to all the folks here. She and Wyatt have been together most of their lives.

 
 

 

Tika

Tika is a McCurdy Horse, standing 15-2, and was born on the 4th of July. She is very sweet and kind of shy but she great insight and compassion for our hurting kids.

 

 

Dakon

Dakon is a Tennessee Walker who is 14-2, and is the senior member of our team. He has somehow gotten the grand idea that he is not a horse, but a lap dog. He is very gentle and loves to be silly, so be prepared to laugh!

 

 

 

Lady

Lady is a Percheron draft horse. Her size should be intimidating but she is so sweet she is a favorite with all.

 

 

 

 

Toby

Toby is a beautiful chestnut gelding who is very affectionate and loves to follow you where ever you go.

 
 

 

 

Wyatt

Wyatt and several of his buddies were rescued a few years back.  He is an old man now and not as playful as before but he will stand for hours and let a kid brush him. He’s great at relationship!

 

 

Peppermint Patty

Peppermint Patty is a rascal.  She came to us as a young horse with an attitude bigger that Lady.  After several years, the attitude is still with her.  She is independent and a bit lazy but if you don’t ask her to work, she is a compliant little soul.
