Rescue Our Children (ROC)

An Equine Assisted Therapy program for At-Risk Youth in Alabama

ROC (Rescue Our Children) is an 8-week experiential equine assisted therapy program for at-risk youth that incorporates parental involvement. Issues addressed include:

  • Drug & Alcohol Addictions
  • Behavior Modification
  • Anger Management
  • Life Skill Training
  • Problem Solving

Rescue Our ChildrenMany at-risk youth come to the farm without much hope that their life will ever be any different.  This renders them disabled.  They are unable to dream or set a goal or to make a plan for their lives.  The ROC program believes Jeremiah 29:11, that the Lord’s plans are for good and not for evil, to give us a hope and a future.  All of our activities are designed to make this a reality for the clients.

The Rescue Our Children Program operates on a weekly basis. Each group participates for eight weeks, and the program recycles continuously, serving a new group each eight weeks. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THESE SERVICES PROVIDED TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. Approximately 50-65 youth are served each week throughout the year. A strong emphasis is placed on character development and on helping participants recognize their strengths and talents and subsequently their value to others and especially to God. ROC serves Coosa Valley Youth Services Camp Lewis and Attention Girls Home, The St. Clair County Day Program, and Pell City High School.
